Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 4, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how Moydus LLC ("LockNear," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects personal information when you visit locknear.com, use our mobile web experiences, create an account, request locksmith services, track a job, or otherwise interact with our marketplace (collectively, the "Services").
LockNear is a technology marketplace that connects customers with independent locksmith professionals. We do not perform locksmith work ourselves. By using the Services, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.
1. Who we are
LockNear is operated by Moydus LLC, a company organized under the laws of the United States.

United States

2. Information we collect
We collect information in three main ways: information you provide, information generated through your use of the Services, and information from third parties.
Information you provide
- Contact details: name, email address, phone number, and communications you send to us.
- Service request details: service type, address or location, notes about your situation, and scheduling preferences.
- Account information: login credentials and profile details if you create a LockNear customer account.
- Vehicle information: for automotive jobs, we may collect make, model, year, color, license plate, and optionally a VIN.
- Payment information: card payments are processed by Stripe. We receive payment status, authorization and capture amounts, and limited billing metadata — we do not store full card numbers on our servers.
- Identity and authorization documents: when required for a job, you may be asked to complete government ID verification and to upload documents that show you are authorized to request service at a property or for a vehicle.
- Work order and signature data: approved quotes, digital signatures, dispute descriptions, and related job records.
- Reviews and feedback: ratings, comments, and support messages after a completed job.
Information collected automatically
- Device and usage data: IP address, browser type, operating system, pages viewed, referring URLs, and interactions with the Services.
- Location data: approximate or precise location when you provide an address, use map features, enable device location for dispatch, or when a provider shares live location during an active job.
- Cookies and similar technologies: session cookies, authentication cookies, security cookies, and analytics identifiers. See Section 9 below.
- Diagnostic data: error logs and performance information collected to keep the Services reliable and secure.
Information from third parties
- Locksmith partners: license, insurance, business, and credential information submitted during onboarding or profile claims.
- Verification and compliance vendors: results from background screening and related checks used to protect customers and the marketplace.
- Payment processors: payment confirmation, fraud signals, and dispute-related information from Stripe.
- Mapping and address providers: geocoding and place suggestions from services such as Google Places and Mapbox.
3. How we use information
We use personal information to:
- Match you with nearby locksmith professionals and facilitate dispatch.
- Display estimates, quotes, ETAs, live tracking, invoices, and job status updates.
- Process payment authorizations, captures, refunds, and disputes.
- Verify locksmith credentials, licenses, insurance, and marketplace eligibility.
- Communicate with you by email, SMS, or in-product messages about requests, assignments, verification steps, and support.
- Prevent fraud, abuse, unauthorized access, and unsafe marketplace activity.
- Operate, maintain, secure, and improve the Services, including analytics and product development.
- Comply with law, respond to lawful requests, and enforce our Terms of Service.
- Send service-related notices; with your consent or as permitted by law, send marketing communications you can opt out of.
4. Identity and authorization verification
Locksmith work often involves access to homes, businesses, and vehicles. Confirming that you are who you say you are, and that you're authorized to request access, is your assigned Provider's responsibility, done in person at the job site — not an automated process run by LockNear. We do not collect or process government ID images, selfies, liveness checks, or other biometric verification data.
For certain jobs, your assigned locksmith may ask to see proof that you own or are authorized to access the property or vehicle (for example, a photo ID or vehicle registration) before starting work. This is a judgment call made by the Provider on site, not something LockNear reviews, stores, or processes.
5. How we share information
We share personal information only as described below. We do not sell your personal information.
- Assigned locksmith professionals: when you request service, we share the details needed to respond, quote, travel to your location, perform work, and complete the job — such as contact information, service location, service type, vehicle details, and job notes.
- Service providers: companies that help us operate the Services, including hosting, payment processing, communications, analytics, error monitoring, mapping, and security vendors. These providers are authorized to use information only as needed to perform services for LockNear.
- Business transfers: if we are involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to appropriate protections.
- Legal and safety: when we believe disclosure is required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of LockNear, our users, or the public.
- With your direction or consent: when you ask us to share information or otherwise consent.
Locksmith professionals are independent businesses, not employees of LockNear. Their use of information you share during a job is also governed by their own policies and applicable law.
6. Data retention
We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Services, maintain business and financial records, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and meet legal, tax, and compliance obligations. Retention periods vary depending on the type of information and why it was collected.
Job tracking links are designed to be exchanged for secure session cookies. Please do not store tracking tokens in browser storage or share them unnecessarily.
7. Security
We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information, including encryption in transit, access controls, monitoring, and vendor security reviews. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to:
- Access, correct, or delete certain personal information.
- Opt out of marketing emails using the unsubscribe link in those messages.
- Limit certain analytics cookies through your browser settings.
- Request information about how we use and share personal information.
California residents may have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA), including the right to know, delete, correct, and opt out of certain sharing. We do not sell personal information and do not use sensitive personal information for purposes requiring a right to limit under California law.
To exercise privacy rights, contact us at info@locknear.com. We may need to verify your request. If we deny a request, you may have the right to appeal where required by law.
